Soul is a great little car but Australians just have not taken the small cars and SUVs to their hearts.

I love the 6 speed auto instead of the CVT others in the segment have, and the spec has been increased via infotainment upgrades.

Soul is now $24,990 drive away, down from $26,990 plus on road costs, a saving of around $5,000. Metallic paint now down with a single tone now $520, for the two-tone models: the Clear White body and Red roof will be $390 premium over the Clear White single-tone model while the Inferno Red and Black two-tone metallic paint is a $910 premium.

“Even the best can do with a helping hand from time to time, and for Soul the 2017 adjustments are just that _ a bit of a boost for what is an excellent vehicle,” Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer Damien Meredith said. “The Soul certainly deserves greater recognition than it has enjoyed and with the preferred SUV-like seating position, a willing 2.0-litre engine, a 6-speed automatic and clever interior space we believe it has a strong future in Australia.”

Restyled 2017 Soul gets exterior styling changes to its grill, bumper, air intake, fog lamps and reflectors and wheel design.

Inside, there is a refined centre fascia, new cloth door trim, a new seat covering and a metal painted steering wheel bezel.

The new 5.0-inch colour screen audio unit has RDS (Radio Data System), the FlexSteer steering system adds a Drive Mode Select which adjusts both steering and engine mapping.

Kia Motors Australia’s also has an industry-leading 7-year Warranty, 7-year Capped Price Service and 7-Year Roadside Assist.

The Soul is up against small segment hatches as well as the SUV-like vehicles. It is a hard fight to get a hold. The increased features and lower pricing may well get Soul on a buyer’s list.
