The entire BMW 4 Series range, including Convertible, two-door Coupe and four-door Gran Coupe body styles, now benefits from new Bi-LED headlights with LED front fog lights fitted as standard equipment. Opting for the range-topping 440i range brings Adaptive LED headlight functionality as standard (optional on 420i and 430i).
Luxury Line – now standard on 420i – variants gain a revised front apron to further enhance the new lighting signature, which distinctively widens and lowers the new 4 Series’ stance.
At the rear, new L-shaped LED tail lights and a revised reflector design add further appeal. Luxury Line variants benefit further from a sophisticated rear bumper design. Opting for the Luxury Line brings an elegant new 19-inch light alloy road wheel, while a fresh M Sport ‘double spoke’ 19-inch light alloy is also available on cars equipped with the M Sport package.
Two new, 4 Series-specific metallic paint options also debut: Sunset Orange metallic and Snapper Rocks Blue, inspired by the colour of Australian surf beaches.
For those seeking the ultimate in personalisation, two BMW Individual colours, sourced from the flagship 7 Series range, have been added to the 4 Series colour palette: Frozen Silver and Aventurine Red.
A high-quality interior provides occupants with both form and function, thanks to enhanced interior trims, a new multi-functional instrument display (available from July 2017 production) and the latest in connectivity.
The driver’s first touch point – the sports steering wheel – has been enhanced with ‘Nora’ leather for improved tactility and the double-stitched instrument panel adds a further element of craftsmanship. The high grade 440i variants showcase a Walknappa leather instrument finish.
The centre console is finished in high-gloss black while an array of chrome highlights and electroplated finishes provide striking contrasts.
Key touch points are further improved, newly-designed wiper and indicator stalks now ‘snapping’ into position. Buttons for high beam assist and auto rain-sensing wipers now stay depressed when in operation, furthering ease-of-use.
The latest BMW navigation system professional is fitted as standard to the updated 4 Series range. It incorporates the latest iDrive6 functionality that makes its debut in the BMW 5 Series.
Offering touchscreen capability as well as access via the traditional iDrive controller and voice recognition software, the iDrive6 operating system projects onto a customisable touchscreen that offers app-style ‘tile’ displays that can be reordered by touch.
Three new Dakota leather upholstery options are also available, ranging from cool Midnight Blue through warming Cognac and elegant Ivory White finishes. In addition a choice of Carbon Aluminium, Fine-wood ‘Fineline’ Light and High-Gloss Black with Pearl Chrome accents are also new to the BMW 4 Series range.
Upgraded suspension reinforces dynamic capability
Renowned for its taut and responsive handling characteristics, the latest BMW 4 Series range takes its dynamic capability to new heights, thanks to a redesigned suspension layout.
The new suspension layout features stiffer springs and improved damper response for the standard Adaptive M Suspension system, enabling a more sporting handling balance without sacrificing ride comfort in either comfort or sport settings.
Straight line stability has been improved and cornering roll reduced, while the electrically-assisted power steering system has also been fine-tuned. Variable Sport Steering is now optional across the range.

Condition Based Servicing
All maintenance requirements for the BMW 4 Series are controlled by the Condition Based Servicing (CBS) system.
With CBS, sensors and advanced algorithms monitor and calculate the conditions in which a vehicle is used, including mileage, time elapsed since its last service, fuel consumption and how a vehicle is driven. Based on the information captured, maintenance requirements are determined, identifying whether an annual vehicle inspection or oil service is due.
Selected BMW service and maintenance costs can be covered by a single, one-off advance payment with BMW Service Inclusive (BSI), which is available in two packages: Basic or Plus.
