Mercedes Benz E400 Video Road test and review
The parking system in the E400 is fully automated. Simply press the button, allow the car to find a spot, then select which way you want to enter. The E400 takes over once the driver selects reverse. The process is then has no driver input. You sill have to keep en eye out, because if you hit anything, it is your fault, not the car’s. You can brake at any time if your nerves give out.
Apart from an extensive list of features, Air scarf neck level heating is accompanied by a deployable rear wind deflector, and AIR CAP which pops out of the top of the windscreen. It helps keeps the cabin free of drafts, and the temperature just so. Of course, you’ll still get burnt to a crisp in hot Australian summers if you leave the roof down on a 40c day.
Apple car play is easy to use, but would be much easier if large LCD screen had touch capabilities. You still need to use the controller between the front seats.
Like the exterior, the interior drips with luxury. timber and metal combine with leather, both real and man-made, give a real feeling of a luxurious private jet.
The impression is heightened by the aviation-style air vents.
Dominating the dash are the two 12“ screens. Information can be reconfigured and displayed just as the driver wants.
As always, Mercedes puts seat controls on the doors which feels dead posh.

The Burmester® surround sound system with 13 speakers, 9-channel DSP amplifier & 590watt output rates a special mention. In a cabin that would embarrass a luxury yacht, the audio system is a thing to behold. The sound is so rich and deep that you feel you’ve received a personal invitation for a live performance
I rate the Mercedes Benz at 9/10.
It is a true luxury gentlemen’s topless tourer, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
