VW Now With 5 Year Warranty on Australia

Volkswagen Australian has today affirmed that all new Volkswagen vehicles sold from January 1 will be covered by five year/unlimited kilometre warranty.

Since October 1 new Volkswagens have benefitted from a five year warranty campaign. Previously new Volkswagens came with three year/unlimited kilometre warranty.

Today Volkswagen Group Australia’s Director of Customer Experience and Marketing Jason Bradshaw confirmed that five year warranty will be a permanent fixture.

“Each year more than 80,000 customers provide us feedback on Volkswagen products and the dealership experience,” Mr Bradshaw said. “The business has gauged reaction to its five year warranty campaign and so decided to implement it on an ongoing basis.”

Five year warranty extends to authorised accessories purchased with the vehicle. Customers will also receive 12 month’s free roadside assist. Those who service with Volkswagen dealers have the opportunity to extend their roadside assistance each year.

Volkswagen is the first German brand in Australia to implement permanent five year warranty. Volkswagen Group Australia’s Czech brand SKODA also offers this coverage.

Volkswagen customers whose cars were delivered prior to October 1 are still able to purchase an extra two year’s warranty at any time prior to the expiration of their three years’ factory coverage.

Mr Bradshaw said that Volkswagen remains by far Australia’s best-selling European brand.

“Customer response to the brand has been such that this year Volkswagen regained number one position in Roy Morgan’s brand loyalty survey,” he said.

“Making five year warranty permanent assures newcomers to the brand that they can buy with confidence. In addition, they can fix their ownership costs with a Volkswagen Service Plan that costs as little as $1137 for 3 years and less than $2000 for five years.

“These plans also guarantee that your vehicle is serviced only by specially trained Volkswagen technicians using Volkswagen Genuine parts.”

All parts come with two years warranty.

Mr Bradshaw said that this year Volkswagen had shown the “breadth of its passenger vehicle capability” with the launch of the new Polo small car range and the Tiguan Allspace, its first seven seat capable SUV.

The long-awaited new Touareg SUV arrives in 2019.

“The new Touareg is an unequivocally luxury SUV, another new step forward for our brand,” Mr Bradshaw said. “Unlike its German competitors, the Touareg is underwritten by the best warranty in its class.”
