A recent small-sample survey of 1,001 Australians by Savvy has revealed that 73% agree that moving to Electric Vehicles (EV) is an important move to reduce CO2 emissions and keep global temperature rises to 1.5°C.
The segments break down as 79% of 18–24-year-olds, 78% of 25-34 year-olds, and 82% of 35-44 year-olds agreed with the statement.
When it comes to money, 40% said they might buy EVs in the future, and 7% of said they want to buy one within the next year. Surprisingly, 2% already own an EV, but 30% say they can’t afford one, and that is the biggest sticking point.
Breaking down the 30% who can’t afford one: 37% of women and (33% for 55-64s and 36% for 65+) of older Australians.
Last of all, 19% of 65+s say stay with petrol/diesel cars.
