Fiat Chrysler Group  V8 Supercars Chrysler 300 SRT8

The Fiat Chrysler Group (FCG) has announced the Chrysler and Jeep brands will be the official sponsors of the Pedder STP safety and course cars for the 2013 and 2014 V8 Supercars Championship.

The scorching Chrysler 300 SRT8 sedan will claim pole position as the official safety car at each event.  Powered by a stonking 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine, the Chrysler 300 SRT8 will have no trouble leading the pack throughout the championship.

The similarly potent Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 – again powered by the famous SRT8 6.4-litre Hemi V8, will be employed as official course car for the event.

Both vehicles can certainly hold their own in track conditions.  The new 6.4-litre Hemi engine common to both is backed by decades of uncompromising Chrysler engine development, and stands tall as one of the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated V8s.

V8 Supercars’ Director of Commercial and Marketing John Dunlop welcomed the Chrysler and Jeep brands to the championship.

“Chrysler is an amazing partner and getting to work with them in 2013 and 2014 will be fantastic. The Chrysler 300 SRT8 and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 are such strong brands and great cars that will gain valuable exposure on and off track”, said Dunlop.

The stylish Chrysler 300SRT8 sedan, complete with emergency lights and striking livery, was unveiled on Channel Seven’s Sunrise in Sydney’s Martin Place this morning.

The Chrysler 300 SRT8 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 vehicles will make their debut tomorrow at the season launch Test Day at Eastern Creek, which will give the public a sneak preview of the 2013 line up.
