Chery Scores Dual Wins in 2026 Money Best of the Best Awards

Chery Australia has strutted into the 2026 Money Best of the Best Awards like a debutante who knows she’s about to snatch trophies—and snatch she did. In its very first outing, the brand bagged two major gongs: Best-Value Compact SUV for the Tiggo 4 Urban and Best-Value Plug-In Hybrid for the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid Urban.

Money’s annual awards crown Australia’s top-performing products, with judges combing through every detail to ensure consumers get proper bang for their buck. And this year, Chery clearly hit the sweet spot. “A well-deserved back-to-back win thanks to its low starting prices, tech features and warranty,” said Editor-in-Chief Michelle Baltazar—translation: these cars offer champagne vibes on a house-wine budget.

Chery COO Lucas Harris was equally chuffed, calling the double Gold a “tremendous milestone” and pointing out that both models were built to deliver big value without the cheap-and-cheerless aftertaste.

The Tiggo 4 Urban, priced under $24k, has been crowned Australia’s best-value compact SUV. Young professionals, first-timers and small families have been flocking to it for its dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless phone mirroring, and that slightly flirty “Hello Chery” voice assistant—because even your car should know how to say hi properly.

Meanwhile, the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid Urban slayed its segment, becoming Australia’s most affordable seven-seat PHEV. With up to 93 km EV driving and a whopping 1,200 km combined range, it’s the road-trip queen you take when you want to feel eco-virtuous and fabulous. Add in a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 10-speaker audio and 9 airbags, and she’s practically ready for Mardi Gras.

Chery’s twin triumph cements its rising star status in the Australian market—and proves that good value doesn’t have to look bargain-bin. Sometimes it comes with a bit of gloss, a lot of tech, and a cheeky wink.
