We often get asked what we do to test our cars and I always tell people that we use them as you do. In other words we do with a car what you do with a car. This week we have had the captive 7 with the 190KW 3.)L petrol V6. It’s proved surprisingly comfy and quite and not that heavy on juice at around 11.0 L/100K. That’s not a lot for a small-ish engine pulling an 1800 kilo car. Let’s face it, most SUVs aren’t terribly aerodynamic either. We stopped on our Sunday outing for a spot of tiffin at the brand new North Heads Reserve. This was once Sydney’s quarantine station and the buildings remain to provide quarters to a host of businesses including a café, museum and other tourist related enterprises. A further area has now been opened and this was the subject of our visit today. The area is one of outstanding beauty with a view to die for.
We took a couple of holiday snaps showing the view to Sydney CBD, North Sydney CBD and the entrance to Sydney Harbour with South Head just across the way. For a change, the drive to Manly wasn’t a complete nightmare.
The Captiva, though basic, has proved a willing and capable companion. We’ll update the original review later but for the meanwhile a few snaps of Sydney from a view the public haven’t seen. The area has only been available for four short months.
