The Cloud III is in excellent condition with only 42,000 miles on the clock. It received a distinction at Melbourne’s Motorclassica in 2017.

This Silver Cloud III Flying Spur It was on Tasmanian historic registration, and should get $450,000 – $500,000 range. It comes with copies of its original Rolls-Royce build sheets.

As well as the Silver Cloud III Flying Spur, there are two British-built Brabham racing cars and a factory-built Series 1 Lotus Cortina in the auction.

The open two-seater 1963 Brabham BT5 Sports Racing car ‘SC-2-63’ is the second of only two Brabham BT5s ever created.

It was first fitted with an 1100 motor by Australian Paul Hawkins for the quasi-works Ian Walker Racing team.  It finished 2nd in the Under 1150cc class at the Aintree 200 meeting that year,. It was then sold to Ed Zeller to compete in the Swiss Hillclimb Championship after being fitted with a larger 1500 Cosworth Twin Cam engine.

The car was owned by Brian Wilson bought ‘SC-2-63’ from 1994 who did a comprehensive 3 year restoration where is got the longer BT8-style tail.

The Brabham was asked to take part in the Goodwood Revival in 2006 and 2008, as well as other local events, to give historic Lotus 23s a run for their money.

It then went to the current Sydney owner in 2010, going back to its original 1963 bodywork and its livery as raced by Ian Walker Racing.

It currently has a 1600cc Cosworth Twin Cam engine, with a Hewland Mk5 five-speed gearbox, and has not been raced since.

It is in race-ready condition and eligible for numerous historic racing and concours events around Australia. Sister car SC-1-63, is a regular at Goodwood Revival where this BT5 would also make a splash.

The BT5 should get interest from overseas, and sell in the $200,00-$250,000 range.

Another Brabham is a single-seater 1967 Brabham BT23B Intercontinental, and is 1 of only 3 BT23B Brabhams made.

It was originally delivered to a wealthy Swiss racing driver, Charles Vogele. He raced the BT23B in local circuit races and hillclimbs. It comes with a Coventry Climax 2.5-litre engine.

Sydney owner bought the BT23B in 2009 who then gave it a comprehensive recommissioning.  The engine was rebuilt by Lou Russo in Melbourne in 2012-2013.

‘BT23B-2’ competed at Sydney Motorsports Park between November 2010 to November 2017, getting a front row grid and had just one DNF.

It is for sale as seen when it was last raced in November 2017. You could take this car to almost any major race meeting on the planet, and it comes with an expired FIA Certificate and a current CAMS Certificate of Description.

There isinternational interest, and is expected to sell in the $175,000-$200,000 range.

A personal favourite is the ‘works prepared’ 1964 Lotus Cortina Mk 1 that was built by Ford’s Competition Department in England for the Sydney-based Total Racing Team.

Only 3 factory-built Mk 1 Lotus Cortinas came to Australia, and is identical to the one raced in Britain by the late Jim Clark,

It was created in 1964 by ‘Pete’ Geoghegan and his brother Leo, at Warwick Farm, Lakeside, Sandown and Mount Panorama, before rolling at Catalina Park.

It went to Queensland, where it was fixed up, and used as a daily driver.  It then went to Ballina-based Lotus Cortina expert Graham Mein for a restoration and 20-year ownership.

It is super-rare, has international interest, and should sell for $200,000-$250,000.

Then there is a ‘tribute’ to a Ford, with a Competition Department-built 1973 Ford Escort ‘RS1600’ two-door sedan. It is Group 4 specification using all the best competition bits.

This is an absolute triumph, and has all the Mexico inclusions such the bulging  ‘Mexico’ mudguards and famous 1599cc  BDA engine.  It is eligible for historic rallying events world-wide, so should sell for 90,000-$120,000.

The goergous 1966 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 Roadster has been ground-up restored to original, with cream with red leather colours.

The 3 owner car presents like new, and should go for around $280,000-$340,000.

There are Jaguar E-types in the auctions, including a 1971 V12 Series 3 ‘Manual’ Coupe for $140,000-$165,000, and a 1969 E-Type 4.2 Series 2 2+2 Coupe that should see a $75,000-$100,000 sale price.

The 3 Lotuses in the sale are a 1973 Elan +2 Coupe that has had a recent body-off refurbishment ($50,000-$60,000); a 1985 Esprit Turbo Coupe in great condition (‘no reserve’, $45,000-$55.000) and a 1969 Lotus Europa S2 Coupe  ($25,000 – $30,000).

Also in the online suction is an Australian-delivered aluminium-bodied 1950 Bristol 400 Saloon in superb condition ($80,000 – $100,000), a 1975 Morgan Plus 8 Roadster ($60,000 – $70,000; a 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 MkII BN7 Roadster ($75,000 – $90,000); three Classic MGs topped by a 1960 MGA 1600 Mark 1 Roadster ($50,000 – $60,000) and a 1986 Range Rover ‘Quadramotive Schuler’ Station Wagon ($40,000 – $60,000).
