Inside:
BMW Theatre Screen is standard on the i7 xDrive60 and optional on the 740i with the Connoisseur Lounge option. The 31.3” screen folds down from the headliner when turned on. 8KrResolution in 16:9, 21:9 or 32:9 cinemascope brings a cinema feeling to the rear seat passengers,
Bowers and Wilkins sound brings the BMW 740i a 20-speaker, 655-watt system. The i7 xDrive60 has a Diamond Surround Sound system with 39 speakers, 4D audio and 1965 watts.
BMW Touch Command uses two built-in touch screens in the door panels for rear seat passengers to use with their BMW Theatre Screen. They can also operates radio, paired smartphones, the My Modes functions, rear seat adjustments, roller blinds, climate control and lighting.
Connoisseur Lounge integrates the Executive Lounge feature, which includes an optimised reclining seat position with calf support and luxurious folding centre armrest.
The standard Panorama Glass is backlit by LEDs with a sequence replicating the pattern of the seat surface quilting. the colour is chosen in My Mode but can also be selected independently.
There is more luxury in the form of automatic opening and closing doors standard on the i7 xDrive60 and optional with the 740i Connoisseur Lounge. The doors will automatically open and close when the car is at rest, with less than 10 degrees of pitch and roll angle. The doors can be opened with a touch of the door handles, buttons in either the BMW Interaction Bar on the instrument panel or rear door panel, or via voice command with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
To go with this ‘Grand Entrance’ moment, a luxurious light show projects from under the doors onto the ground as the driver approaches.
Multifunction seats have heating, Active Seat Ventilation, lumbar support, head restraint adjustment (height and depth), a massage function for driver. BMW comes in Merino leather/cashmere wool interior trim for the final touch of ultimate poshness.
BMW Interaction Bar appears like a piece of crystal jewellery and spans the length of the instrument panel. It looks like a crystalline-like illumination display that changes its colour depending on mood, and controls air conditioning functions by touch rather than dial or switch. BMW’s Shy Tech is a concept where technology and other features are hidden until they are needed. For example, the air vents are imperceptibly integrated into the Interaction Bar.
The BMW CraftedClarity Glass is seen in the iDrive controller, start/stop button, volume roller dial, gear selector and seat adjustment buttons.
The fully digital BMW Curved Display compliments the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and the latest version of the BMW Head-Up Display. Navigation includes an advanced Augmented Reality function.
The My Modes include:
My Mode Relax
Combines calm images in the Control Display, a seat massage function and a gentle soundscape. The driver can also black out the window areas and the panoramic glass roof.
My Mode Theatre
The 31.3-inch BMW Theatre Screen (if fitted) folds down from the headliner, accompanied by dimmed interior lighting and seat moved into a position to allow for comfortable, uninhibited viewing.
My Mode Expressive
Accentuates the driving experience with lively colours and patterns as well as operation of BMW IconicSounds Electric, the electronic soundscape masterminded by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
