Get a Hyundai i20N for $32,490

Hyundai has released preliminary specifications and pricing for the all-new i20 N and all-new KONA N, with both models set to launch locally in 2021. This boosts the existing N range of two cars.

i20 N

Hot hatches are regular old family tarted up ready for racing. But, it isn’t all lippy and eye shadow. These cars take DNA from the i20 WRC rally car, making the all-new i20 N will punters an entry level to the Hyundai’s N range. The engine is a moedst 1.6-litre turbo petrol putting out 150kW/275Nm with 304Nm on Overboost. Some will be distressed to find it only comes with a 6-speed manual.

Power comes in at lower revs than you might expect, allowing granny-driving for every day use.

The all-new i20 N has maximum torque between 1,750 and 4,500 RPM, and max power between 5,500 and 6,000 RPM. It gives the little hatch great performance at all speeds and in all conditions.

Weighing in at just 1,213kg, the i20 N’s power-to-weight ratio is one of the best in class. It has a maximum speed of 230km/h and the 0100km/h is 6.2 seconds.

Hyundai’s six-speed manual been given a thorough in order to tollerate higher RPM, torque and Launch Control, yes, launch control.

All-new i20 N also has the N Corner Carving Differential, a Mechanical Limited Slip Differential (m LSD) that utilises a mechanically controlled Torsion gear type to control the power transfer to the front wheels. It provides optimum traction and enhances grip on every corner for sportier and more agile handling.

The i20 N will be offered as a single, feature packed variant, and will go on sale locally in Q4 priced at $32,490 MLP.
