Chery Australia has kicked off the New Year with a $6,000 price cut on its Omoda E5 electric SUV

This 3-row line-up clearly has Kia’s Sorento PHEV in its sights. As with most Chinese auto brands, Chery is able to “do it cheaper”, taking the space where Kia and Hyundai once lived.

Chery is expanding its model line up with the Omoda 7, which the company claims “will lead the way into a new era of mobility.

OMODA E5 EV comes in Standard and Premium models and will join the existing OMODA E5 range. Chery nameplates include OMODA 5, Tiggo 7 Pro, and the 7seat Tiggo 8 Pro Max SUV.

Chery TIGGO 7 Pro is a new mid-size SUV and comes in 3 trim levels: Urban ($39,990), Elite ($41,990) and Ultimate AWD ($45,990).

Pricing for Omoda 5 seemed quite unbelievable, and one might have assumed the quality and drive might be a trifle suspect. So, is it?
