2018 Toyota CHR road test video Car Review

David from drivenmedia.com.au and Alan from gaycarboys.com drive Toyota’s newest mini SUV, the CH R.

We have our usual chat, with a hope to accidentally impart some of our limited knowledge.

The 1.2L tubro petrol has a manual and CVT option in 2 trim levels.

C-HRC-HR KOBA
2WD manual$26,990
2WD CVT$28,990$33,290
AWD CVT$30,990$35,290

Both have a 6.1” tablet LCD touch screen infotainment system in the centre console, augmented by a 4.1” drivers instrument LCD between the tacho and speed dials.

The comfortable cabin suits a younger buyer who fancies something a bit different. There is enough ground clearance to aid the AWD system in a little light off-road work.

The city is where it will be used mainly, and Toyota has tried to aim this squarely at millennials. It is a shame there is no Apple Carplay/Android Auto though.

The interior space is similar to Corolla, so buyers have been given a hatch or SUV choice with similar pricing for both models.

Our friends at Behind the Wheel don’t mind CHR either. Rob at OzRoamer, our local SUV expert has had a few words to say too.
