BMW claims first quarter podium position as top German premium automotive brand. BMW had a jump of 8.5%, or 5,844 new vehicles registered to March this year.

BMW saw a 211% increase in electric vehicle sales. 1,423 EVs were registered, demonstrating Australia’s growing love for quiet, CO2-free motoring. Most public charging is sourced renewably, or home owners can opt to subsides their motoring with solar panels.

The Australian government will introduce the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) in January 2025 to reduce fuel both cost and vehicle emissions. The industry has been demanding fuel and efficiency standards to avoid Australia becoming a dumping ground for sub-par products unable to be sold in Europe. The standards will mandate carmakers to lower their average fleet CO2 figure.
