Citroen Australia has confirmed that it will launch its funky, C4 Cactus small SUV in early 2016.

The highly awarded Citroen C4 Cactus will bring with it a bold design and innovative features including Airbump technology, magic wash and a roof mounted airbag.

Unique Airbump® technology provides style with substance to absorb minor impacts, this flexible skin protects the vehicle from minor scrapes and bumps.

Consisting of a multitude of air capsules under a flexible skin TPU (Thermo Plastic Urethane), the soft treatment absorbs small bumps and provides better resistance to scratches.

They require no special maintenance, and directly involved in the reduction of operating costs of the vehicle.

Airbump technology will also be joined by an innovative ‘Magic Wash’ system whereby windscreen-washer jets are fitted in the tips of the wipers to provide a bead of liquid rather than a spray.
The system results in no loss of visibility during washing, while removing overspray and reducing consumption of washer fluid by half.

Maintaining the vehicles design focus, a new, innovative roof mounted airbag maximises storage space, allowing for an 8.5L stowage box in the dash, while also contributing to a cleaner dash design.
Since its launch last year, the C4 Cactus has taken out numerous awards including;

  • 2014 Best Crossover in UK’s Next Greencar Awards
  • 2014 Hatch of the Year – BBC Top Gear
  • 2014 Most Beautiful Interior Design – 30th Annual International Automobile Festival
  • 2014 Small hatch of the Year – UK Car of The Year
  • 2015 Production Car of the Year – Car Design News

General manager for Citroen Australia, John Startari said the introduction of the C4 Cactus continues Citroens focus on design and innovation.

“Citroen is renowned historically for its ground breaking designs and pioneering features, and the C4 Cactus follow in the footsteps of the Grand C4 Picasso and C4 Picasso with a bold family face and innovative on-board technology,” said Startari.

“We are very excited about the launch of C4 Cactus in fact, we are already holding a number of pre-orders for the vehicle well ahead of its local introduction,” said Startari.
