Classic Motor Cycles at Shannons August Auctions

Ride-away classic motorcycles at Shannons August Sydney Winter Auction

  • Two great ‘intra-War’ 500cc BSA twins
  • Two iconic 1980s Japanese dirt bikes – both fully restored and not ridden since!
  • Collectible first Yamaha XS650 road bike

Seven very usable classic motorcycles will be crossing the block at Shannons upcoming Sydney Winter Auction on August 26 – most with ‘no reserve’.

No Reserve may not mean “bargain”, but it could mean “triumph”. Motor cycle enthusiasts who appreciate a classic will see old favourites at auction.

The highlight for British motorcycle enthusiasts is a very desirable 1970 650cc Triumph Bonneville T120R, presented in excellent restored condition and expected to sell in the $12,000-$16,000 range.

Two classic ‘intra-War’ BSA twin cylinder solos will also excite collectors: a restored 1941 BSA WM20 and an unrestored, but complete 1946 M20. Each is expected to sell with ‘no reserve’ in the $7,000-$10,000 range.

As an alternative for British classic motorcycle enthusiasts, there is a single-cylinder. 125cc 1948 Royal Enfield ‘Flying Flea’ motorcycle. Presented in excellent useable condition and offered with ‘no reserve’, it is expected to sell with ‘no reserve’ in the $4,000-$6,000 range.

Other standouts of the two-wheelers on offer, include two great Japanese 1980s dirt bikes: a 1980 80cc Suzuki RM80T and a mighty 600cc 1983 Honda XL600R –  both fresh from similar ground up restorations and neither being used since completion.

Each is  offered with ‘no reserve’, with the Suzuki expected to sell for a very affordable $2,000-$3,000 and the Honda for $3,000-$6,000. That should excite those with an eye on the future too.

Finally, for Japanese motorcycle collectors, there  is the opportunity to purchase an  unrestored example of Yamahas first road model – the XS-1 650cc. This very original classic is in good rideable condition and is expected to sell with ‘no reserve’ in the $9,000-$13,000 range.
