Charging
Mercedes me Charge allows the MBUX multimedia system to navigate a trip that includes charging stops. The Mercedes me Charge network uses Chargefox and its 1300 stations, and in 2025, will expand to include other charging providers.
Upon arrival at the public charging station, authentication can be done through MBUX, the Mercedes me app on a paired smartphone, or a Mercedes me Charge RFID card. The process is digitally authenticated and payments automatically debited after each session.
Specific cost per kilowatt-hour or per minute can be displayed, as well as an estimate of the total cost to fully charge on the MBUX display/Mercedes me app before starting the charging process. Drives will pay the standard rate, however there is complimentary period of three years (EQA) or one year (EQB), but Customers must register with Mercedes me Charge or Chargefox to get the free period. There might be exclusions so take note.
The EQA and EQB range come with a five-metre charging cable to use at the optional Mercedes-Benz Wallbox or at public charging stations, and an eight-metre cable for use with domestic power sockets.
