Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is on a roll, delivering its ninth consecutive profitable quarter with record-breaking Q3 FY25 revenue and its best EBIT margin in a decade. With numbers that would make doubters blush, the British luxury marque posted a £7.5 billion revenue haul for the quarter—up 2% year-on-year—and a year-to-date total of £21.2 billion.
JLR has been through a host of owners, and its recent relaunch was met with mixed reactions, but the figures speak for themselves. Realignments put an axe through the XF, XE, XF, F-Type, i-Pace and E-Pace. i-Pace has had repeated recall, the fire-prone 90kwh battery had a disappointing 400km range, with battery replacement shortages finally forcing an unprecedented buyback scheme in some markets.
Instead, JLR aims to take Jaguar upmarket with an electric Bentley beater, and that’s before the electric Range Rover is mentioned.

Details:
Profit before tax and exceptional items landed at £523 million for the quarter, bringing JLR’s year-to-date profit to a cool £1.6 billion, the highest Q3 YTD profit in ten years. EBIT margin stood strong at 9.0%, bolstered by increased sales, an improved model mix, and strategic cost-cutting.
Beyond the balance sheet, JLR continues to push forward with its ‘Reimagine’ strategy, bringing modern luxury and electrification into sharper focus. The eagerly anticipated Jaguar Type 00 was unveiled in Miami, previewing the future of the reimagined Jaguar brand. Meanwhile, Defender fans got their first taste of the rugged Defender OCTA, which has already received widespread acclaim. And in true Land Rover fashion, the Defender will soon put its money where its mud is, competing in the Dakar Rally and FIA World Rally-Raid Championship from 2026.
For those who prefer their Range Rovers with a touch more opulence, the Range Rover SV Bespoke Candeo has arrived, dripping in hand-applied paint and 18K solid gold badging. Notably, Range Rover also bagged the ‘Made in UK’ award at the annual Walpole British Luxury Awards, further cementing its place as a leader in automotive luxury.
Electrification efforts continue to charge ahead, with the upcoming Range Rover Electric amassing a staggering 57,000 eager customers on its waiting list. Plug-in hybrid sales skyrocketed by 163% year-on-year, signalling a growing appetite for electrification among Range Rover buyers. In the sustainability sphere, JLR’s Circularity Lab made an industry-first breakthrough by developing a recycled seat foam concept, aimed at reducing emissions and waste.
On the enterprise front, JLR is investing in new special paint facilities in Castle Bromwich, UK, and Nitra, Slovakia, to meet demand for personalised vehicles while lowering emissions. Connectivity is also getting an upgrade, with a new partnership with Tata Communications set to enable continuous connectivity, even in the remotest locations, from 2026.
Reflecting on the quarter, JLR CEO Adrian Mardell expressed confidence in the company’s direction:
“JLR has delivered a robust performance in the third quarter of our financial year and reached further milestones in our Reimagine strategy. Thanks to our people and partners, we achieved record Q3 revenue and our best EBIT margin in a decade, and our electrification plans are progressing. We revealed the beautiful, reimagined Jaguar design vision—Type 00—in Miami, and later this year, we will launch Range Rover Electric.”
While economic headwinds loom, JLR remains steadfast in its profitability and cash flow targets for FY25. With an EBIT margin goal of ≥8.5% and ambitions for a positive net cash position, the brand is steering confidently into a future defined by luxury, performance, and sustainability.
