Mazda CX-30, A New SUV

Mazda Shows off It’s Brand New CX-30 and updated Mazda 2

What Is CX-30?

CX-30 is the soon to be launched small to medium SUV. There 4 grades: Pure, Evolve, Touring and Astina.

There are several drivetrains, front or AWD, with a 6-speed automatic, and a choice of 2 engines. Sadly, there is no 2.5L turbo, Mazda’s premium power plant. Nor is there a manual transmission. Only the top 2 grades have an AWD option.

CX-30 share a platform with Mazda 3, and feels a similar size.

There are 8 colours: Polymetal Grey Metallic, Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Machine Grey Metallic, Sonic Silver Metallic, Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Titanium Flash Mica, Deep Crystal Blue Mica and Jet Black Mica

How big is CX-30?

CX-30 fits between CX-3 and CX-5, but is not called a CX-4, because that would be too easy.

SUV-crazy Australia gets another choice because buyers told Mazda they wanted another option between CX-3/CX-5 if CX-3 was too small, and CX-5 was too big. They wanted a Goldilocks option.

Outside, you’re hard pressed to pick much of a difference between CX-30, CX-3 and CX-5.

What’s CX-30 like inside?

The cabin is more akin to Mazda 3.

The new cabin feels as premium as the rest of the Mazda range and has some tasty additions like the 8” LCD centre screen. The system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Trim includes cloth for lower grade models, and leather for the top models. High spec Touring /Astina models are have a Rich Brown colour scheme, with either Black leather or Pure White leather trim, and Pure / Evolve have Navy Blue and Black cloth combinations.

What Safety gear is included:

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Smart Brake Support (SBS), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Stop & Go.

Astina adds: a 360˚ View Monitor, Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA) and Driver Monitoring.

All CX-30 get Mazda’s five-year unlimited kilometre warranty and five-year Mazda Premium Roadside Assistance.
