Melbourne – Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific has been recognised for excellence by Drive.com.au, and awarded the 2013 Best Luxury Car Over $80,000 for the Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID.

Claiming the prestigious Drive ‘Car of the Year’award among strong competition, the Drive judging panel were significantly impressed with the Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID, considering it to be “. . . at the pinnacle of its class for comfort, refinement and dynamics.”

The Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Cars Australia/Pacific, Mr. Horst Von Sanden, said “We are delighted that the E-Class has been recognised as the best luxury car over $80,000. Critical acclaim such as this further confirms our belief in the quality of the product that we are delivering to our customers.”

The Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID is the technological leader of the E-Class range. Combining a 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 150kW and 500Nm, with an electric motor that produces 20 kW and 250 Nm, the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID produces a combined fuel efficiency of just 4.3L/100km while setting a new benchmark for emissions in the large car segment.

The Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID is now on sale to customers in Australia for $108,900 (MRLP).

Important note to editors – The price detailed in this document is the current Manufacturer’s Recommended List Price (MRLP) for the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID range.
