Mark your calendars: on 19 November 2025, Nissan will pull the wraps off the next-generation Navara, and they’re not holding back on nostalgia. Ahead of the big reveal, Nissan has dropped a short teaser film celebrating the iconic ute’s long and rugged history across Australia and New Zealand.
Since its debut Down Under in December 1986, the Navara has morphed from a basic, honest workhorse into one of the country’s most trusted pickups, with over 420,000 sold. Nissan’s “Defy Ordinary” heritage film is a cheeky yet heartfelt tribute, tracing four decades of Aussie life – from sunrise starts on construction sites to weekend adventures at boat ramps – showing how Navara has adapted to the real-world demands of Aussie and Kiwi drivers.

“Every generation has learned from the previous one, and every Australian customer has taught us what matters most in a ute,” says Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania.
The new Navara promises to blend nostalgia with innovation, keeping design cues from past generations while packing today’s tech and capability. Guided by lessons from hundreds of thousands of owners, the next Navara is shaping up as the ultimate partner for both families and businesses.
The full reveal hits globally on 19 November, with Australian and New Zealand buyers set to get their hands on it in early 2026 – kicking off the ute’s fifth decade of Aussie success.
