SAIC Motor International has announced a leadership transition for Australia and New Zealand, appointing Qing Zhang as Chief Executive Officer. Zhang assumes leadership of SAIC Motor’s ANZ operations and the MG brand while retaining his role as Vice President at SAIC Motor International.
Zhang brings extensive experience from SAIC Motor Group and international markets, with a proven history of leading teams through periods of transformation. He will work closely with the local leadership team, spending regular time in the region to provide direction as the MG brand continues its local expansion.
To strengthen local execution, SAIC Motor has also appointed Felix Jiang as Senior Vice President for ANZ. Based in Sydney, Jiang brings deep experience from SAIC headquarters and overseas roles. He will focus on translating strategy into on-the-ground delivery, ensuring seamless day-to-day coordination across the ANZ business.

Outgoing ANZ CEO Peter Ciao will assume an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition for staff, dealers, and customers. Zhang thanked Ciao for his eight years of leadership, during which the MG owner family grew to 300,000 members. Ciao expressed pride in the business’s growth from humble beginnings and its established trust with local partners. This new leadership era is designed to introduce innovative products that meet local demands and fuel further brand momentum.
