Volvo Car Corporation will use 50 special-edition vehicles to transport 500 guests to Princess Estelle’s christening in Stockholm’s Royal Chapel on May 22.

At the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in June 2010, Volvo Car Corporation was the official car supplier, with 85 white Volvos carrying the wedding guests to and from the festivities.

At the forthcoming christening of Princess Estelle, the guests of honour will be transported in 50 white Volvo S80s and XC60s each featuring a specially-created commemorative emblem.

“We are delighted that Volvo Car Corporation can participate in historic royal events such as the wedding between Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and now at Princess Estelle’s christening,” says Olle Axelson, Senior Vice President Public Affairs at Volvo Car Corporation.

The Volvos will depart from the Royal Mews and carry the guests of honour between the various activities on the day of the christening.

“We will have the cars from the day before the christening to the day after,” says Court Equerry Mertil Melin. “The cars will mostly be driven by members of Sweden’s Voluntary Motor Transport Corps.”

The event will be covered by over 400 journalists from across the globe and broadcast live in Sweden, Germany and other countries.
