2023 Honda Civic Type R facts and figures at a Glance

Type R is a moniker given to many generations of go-quick Honda sports cars. It conjures images of track days, jauntily-worn caps, and corners taken at speed on 2 wheels.

New Civic comes in LX trim as a standard 131kw car, or a 135kw hybrid. Civic Type R rounds off the premium plate offering. The 2.0L Civic Type R comes as a 235kw/429Nm manual with auto rev matching.

The driver has a 10.2” digital cluster and a 9” infotainment system.

As with most boy-racer hatches, much of the good stuff is hidden from view. The stiffer body rigidity means better cornering, and improved crash performance. Extra side protection and stiffer roof, sills and pillars, gives passengers a better chance in an accident.
