Due for Australia in 2023, 2023 Honda CR-V promises a quality SUV full of technology. Australian specifications are yet to be confirmed, but there is little doubt the SUV is aimed at the American market, and will be built there, in 3 factories.

American buyers will have 4 trims levels, and to drivetrain options.

2023 CR-V is 69mm longer, with a 40.6mm increase in the wheelbase.

The new styling is a marked departure from Honda’s last 20 years fixed on large grilles and Dame Edna glasses for headlights.

Top of the range models get mesh back grille inserts with all models getting standard LED’s lighting the way forward.

Wheels range up to 19”, giving the exterior a masculine look to match the new, squared-off body.

The Cabin

Interiors have a more tailored look, with fewer sculptural elements to distract. The clean lines come with a lift in materials, equipment, and space.

New cloth coverings or leather depend on trim level.

7” screens feature at entry level, with top models gaining 9” screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired, with top trims adding wireless connection to CarPlay/Android Auto.

Engines/drivetrain/driver aids:

A 1.5L turbo of 2.0L hybrid, uprated AWD and CVT, as well as new suspension, adds to performance and handling.

Driver and safety aids include blind spot monitoring, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and the ability of the emergency braking system has a camera with a wider vie.
