Ford has given its already capable Everest a dirt-loving makeover, and the 2025 Ford Everest Tremor is out to prove that style and substance can go hand in hand—even in a seven-seater. We took it for a romp to see if this off-road extra has the gear to back up the look. Spoiler alert: it absolutely does.
It has almost all the luxe of the Platinum, but with rubber mats over the carpet for wellie-proof entry sans stains.
Let’s call it what it is—a serious off-road SUV with a healthy dose of Aussie attitude. With 26mm of added ground clearance, Bilstein shocks, Crawl Mode, and all-terrain boots, the Everest Tremor is made for weekends in the wild, not just Woolies on weekdays.
And if that’s ringing bells, yes—we’ve driven it before. But this ain’t no first taste anymore. This is the full feast. And she’s still as ruggedly fabulous as she was a week ago.
That Glorious V6 Diesel
Although it doesn’t belt out the raspy chorus of the Raptor, the Tremor’s party piece is the 3.0L turbo diesel V6, which sends a modest 184kW/600Nm through Ford’s 10-speed auto and full-time AWD system. It’s as punchy as a drag queen after two Red Bulls and works a treat on highways and hairpins alike. The Tremor is one of the few true off-roaders that is as good on-road as off.
Need to tow your boat, horses, or holiday regret? No worries—3,500kg braked towing is still on the menu.
Rock Crawl Mode is the headline act here. It fine-tunes traction, throttle, and gears for rocky or loose trails. It’s not fluff—it’s bloody effective. We gave it a workout, and it crawled over ruts and rocks like a hungry bear after brunch.
She takes it slow, but the Everest Tremor is as capable as more expensive Euros—without the stench of a burning wallet every time there’s the faintest whiff of a service department.

26mm of Swagger
The extra ride height (26mm, thank you very much) changes more than just angles—it gives the Tremor a properly confident stance. Underneath you’ll find Bilstein dampers, new springs, and General Grabber AT3 all-terrains, which means you’re riding higher, tougher, and comfier than ever.
On trail and tarmac, the Tremor stays planted, plush, and perfectly predictable. It’s not a sledgehammer in stilettos—it’s a trail-tuned tourer that still knows how to look good at brunch.
Well turned-out campers can tent in style. Me? I’d kip in the back. Nothing puts my teeth on edge more than a bunch of crawling nasties in my bag.
Tactical Chic, No Chrome Nonsense
Gone is the chrome overkill. In comes Command Grey, a steel bash plate, LED aux lights, and chunky black trim. The honeycomb grille and Tremor badging complete the “don’t mess with me” look.
And let’s be honest—it’s the only Everest that looks this butch without trying too hard. Think: lumberjack in activewear (sans camel toe).
Inside: Function with a Hint of Fancy
Inside it’s part tradie, part techie. Tremor-embroidered leather-accented seats, rubber floor mats, and Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment with a big tablet screen make it both rugged and respectable.
Still a seven-seater, though let’s be real: the third row’s more for cargo and canines than humans regardless of size. Rumours of seven-seat claims usually end in numb limbs.
USB ports, safety tech, and a digital cluster round out a cabin that knows how to scrub up without wearing sequins. Only the Platinum gets the sunroof and full driver dial treatment, which is a shame.
The Dollars and (Horse) Sense
You’ll part with $76,590 before on-roads, or around $84,901 drive-away depending on your postcode. Optional packs add serious capability (and cost):
- Rough Terrain Pack – $3,500 (ARB bits)
- Towing Pack – $1,900
- Touring Pack – $2,500
- Premium Seat Pack – $1,100
- Premium Paint – $700
Is it cheap? No. But unlike rivals that are all glory and no guts, this one’s actually trail-ready.
Final Verdict
The 2025 Ford Everest Tremor is the Everest we’ve been waiting for. With proper off-road cred, a lusty V6, Crawl Mode, and a lift that means business, this SUV walks the walk.
We briefly drove the Platinum, and although it’s fab on the firm, its huge alloys are a Greek tragedy in waiting on rock.
It’s not just for muddies and camping—this is a city escape machine with enough luxe to take you from bush bash to bottomless brunch without a wardrobe change.
Even at this price, does anyone really want to bush bash their shiny new toy? Probably not.
