18 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm are set to come to Australia
Alfa Romeo has been involved in racing woth models like the 1965 Giulia Sprint GTA, and the modern GTA carries that heritage. GTA is Italian for “Gran Turismo Alleggerita”, with alleggerita meaninf “lightened”.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is already a powerful experience, the GTA and GTAm take that further. It a more powerful 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo with 397kW. Ultra-light materials mean the GTA and GTAm are lighter than Giulia Quadrifoglio, and get from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

Alfa Romeo engineers made some subtle changes to aerodynamics, alignment and handling. As well, there are new 20-inch wheel rims which have a single locking nut for the first time in a sedan. Finally, the Akrapovič central exhaust system is made from aluminium and has a unique delivering sound.
“What makes this vehicle truly unique is the personalisation offered to the 18 fortunate Australians who will soon own a special piece of Alfa Romeo history, being one of the 500 vehicles produced globally,” said Tom Noble, Director, Marketing Communications for Alfa Romeo.
“As part of the exclusive global program, the 18 Australian owners will receive a certified, numbered vehicle, and will further have the opportunity to personalise their GTA.
“Reminiscent of the spirit of the 1965 Giulia GTA, customers will select the liveries, the brake calipers, the interior stitching, seat belts and even the roll bar for those who’ve secured a GTAm. It’s a truly special experience.”
A tailored consultation process allowed some who had expressed interest to get a hold of those 19 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm models. most of Australian buyers choser the GTAm specification, with fewer going for the GTA. They can expect to be driving their new cars some time late in 2021.
GTA buyers get an Alfa Romeo GTA racing helmet and car cover. GTAm buyers get the full shebang, with a full Alfa Romeo GTA racing suit kit, with the suit, gloves, boots, helmet and car cover, being in the package.
These buyers will be part of an exclusive club, with no more Giulia GTA or GTAm sedans available coming to Australia. There are a few units yet to be sold.
