AUDI AG ended 2020 with their best year ever: between October and December Audi sold 505,583 cars with over half a million in a single quarter for the first time. In a year with COVID limits, Audi delivered 1,692,773 units. While that is a fall of 8.% on 2019, it remains the biggest quarter ever. China was a standaout, with 727,358 vehicles sold, which is up 5.4 percent.

The final quarter of 2020 follows a hard push. Hildegard Wortmann, said, “The global situation continues to be challenging at present. Nevertheless, for 2021 we have set ourselves ambitious targets, aim to achieve continued growth, and view the future with optimism.”

The successful Audi e-tron model (including the Audi e-tron Sportback) saw a considerable increase in demand in 2020, with sales up a massivef 79.5 percent (47,324 cars) compared with sales in 2020. The Audi e-tron is the global top seller among electric vehicles made by German premium manufacturers. In countries like Norway, it is the top-selling Audi. Sales doubled in the auto-makers home country of German, with Audi e-tron (including the Audi e-tron Sportback) becoming even more popular.
Electric cars are here to stay, and increasing sales prove that.
