Bentley Unveils Bespoke Koa Surfboard for Charity Auction

Bentley Motors has teamed up with luxury retreat brand Marnie Rays and Cornwall’s Otter Surfboards to create something no one asked for, but now everyone wants — a handcrafted surfboard made from Bentley’s ultra-rare Koa veneer. That’s right, the same wood used in the cabins of Bentley’s most lavish grand tourers is now riding waves off the Cornish coast. Talk about making a splash.

The one-of-a-kind creation isn’t just about catching a wave — it’s a full-bodied celebration of craftsmanship, sustainability, and the kind of carefree luxury that lets you surf in designer board shorts. Marnie Rays founder Lindsey Holland and Otter Surfboards’ James Otter selected the Koa veneer in person at Bentley HQ in Crewe, guided by the brand’s expert craftspeople. The veneer itself is a nod to Hawaiian surfboard-making traditions, blending island soul with British bespoke.

Crafting this board wasn’t a quick whip-up job — the Koa veneer was carefully prepped using methods not seen since Bentley’s Mulsanne retired, before being lovingly shaped by hand in Otter Surfboards’ Cornish workshop. The result? A museum-worthy surfboard etched with the logos of all three collaborators.

Naturally, there’s a film — because what’s a surfboard launch without cinematic drama? Featuring the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase and narrated by Holland in poetic form, the film traces the journey from Crewe to Cornwall, culminating in waves, wood, and wanderlust.

Premiering today at the VIP Marnie Rays surf retreat, the surfboard will be raffled off in support of Surfability UK, a not-for-profit offering adaptive surfing experiences for people with disabilities. It’s craftsmanship with heart, and a salty splash of purpose.

So whether you’re into wood grain or wave chasing, Bentley’s latest bespoke venture proves luxury knows no bounds — especially not the shoreline.
