Bye Felicia: Homophobic Iftekhar Hasan Does Midnight Flit

Homophobic shop owner, Iftekhar Hasan, closed his Waterloo eatery after locals vowed to steer clear of the business. His homophobic social media rant made TV news after a backlash from the local community went viral.

The inner Sydney suburb is heavily populated by gay, and gay friendly residents. The community was appalled by the anti-social behaviour.

After Hasan’s grovelling apology issued in the wake of the social media storm, the crippled business held a final hoorah. A small car meet with a few exotics held in previous weeks, rose to 30. Hasan claims 70 EVOs (Lancer Evolution) and other sports cars took part. This is not true.

Diners ate “all you can eat” pizza, with no social distancing being observed. “Crowds persisted from early evening until late,” one resident said.

Hasan’s self-aggrandising continued in further social media posts. One referred to a local resident as an “it”, making further homophobic comments about other residents. One of his commenters remarked, “you look like you crawled out of an abortion bucket.” These posts have since been removed, but we have enclosed screen grabs of the offending statements.

Hasan says, “they tried to close us but we showed them we don’t need a cent from them.” Need we point out that his final night was 3 weeks after locals imposed their ban. It seems he did need local money after all. We can only assume Iftekhar Hasan’s apology was as insincere the locals claimed.

It is alleged that Hasan vacated with up to $20,000 in body corporate fees are owning by the business.

In a “midnight flit”, stock, fridges, and other fittings, were removed. The premises was left in disarray with equipment uncleaned, and boxes and other paraphernalia left strewn about the floor. Open containers of flour were left on the bench after the all-you-can-eat binge.

The gay community is now supported by the broader community, and we will not tolerate homophobia or violence.
