Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know GMSV is now bringing fabulous American muscle to Australia. The lineup includes nameplates with a pedigree that reads like a who’s who of Hollywood royalty, the Corvette Stingray. Just about every movie star worth their salt has owned one, and the new model garners the same salivation.

GMSV will be some iconic models to “the Mountain” as part of the Bathurst 2023 cavalcade. GSMV has snagged a display area beside the racetrack for an “activation”. That’s PR-speak for a sumptuous show, or delicious display, or captivating cavalcade.

Activations run from a humble car parked on a lawn, to a full-blown set-up, movie ready. Who knows what GSMV has in store, but on the day, viewers will see the Corvette Z06, C8 Stingray, and the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2.

“This is an awesome opportunity for race fans to get along and see the new Z06 in arguably its natural environment – at the racetrack,” said Jodie Lennon, GMSV Marketing and Communications Manager.

“The Z06 is a road going version of a supercar, it’s a mid-engine rear-wheel drive two-seater sport car manufactured right-hand drive at the home of Corvette, the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.”

The Corvette Z06 comes with a hand-assembled naturally aspirated LT6 5.5L DOHC V8 engine. Its all-new flat-plane crankshaft design allows the big chunk of American goodness to rev to 8,600 rpm.  The 475kW/595Nm Z06 should be in GMSV showrooms in Australia and New Zealand late this year.

Race fans will be welcome to give the MY23 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 a thorough going over, including a view from the driver seat, a lofty position indeed.

The GMSV display is open all weekend, with the C8 Stingray in the driver parade on the Sunday morning prior to the start of the world-famous race.
