Cadillac OPTIQ and VISTIQ Australian and New Zealand Pricing Revealed

Cadillac has finally confirmed the expansion of its all-electric range in Australia and New Zealand. Ahead of the Melbourne Grand Prix, General Motors announced that the OPTIQ and VISTIQ will join the LYRIQ, creating a three-tier luxury SUV portfolio. GM Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Jess Bala has moved the brand into its next phase, offering factory right-hand drive American luxury to a market typically dominated by European manufacturers.

The OPTIQ serves as the new entry point for the brand. It is designed for drivers who want the agility of a sedan with the utility of an SUV. The standard dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers a Cadillac-estimated 224kW of power and 480Nm of torque. A 75kWh lithium-ion battery is positioned low in the chassis to maintain sharp handling. Range is estimated at 425km on a full charge, making it a viable option for both city commuting and regional travel.

Inside the OPTIQ, the technology is a focal point. A 33-inch diagonal LED display spans the dashboard, offering 9K resolution. The cockpit integrates Google built-in and a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system with Dolby Atmos. For those concerned with charging times, DC fast charging can add 94km of range in approximately 10 minutes. Pricing starts at $80,000 AUD or $90,000 NZD.

The VISTIQ is a three-row flagship intended for families who require more space. The dual-motor AWD system produces 459kW and 880Nm of torque. Using Velocity Max mode, the SUV reaches 100km/h in 4.2 seconds. It features a 91kWh battery and an estimated 461km range. The VISTIQ also includes Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and active rear steering to improve manoeuvrability in urban environments. The interior offers a six-passenger layout with second-row captain’s chairs and a 23-speaker AKG system. It is priced from $116,000 AUD or $120,000 NZD.

Both models include eight years of Cadillac Connected Services, allowing for remote pre-conditioning and trip planning via the myCadillac app. Safety features such as Blind Zone Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and HD Surround Vision are standard. To maintain interest in the existing range, Cadillac is offering the MY25 LYRIQ for $95,000 driveaway for a limited time. Sales are expected to commence through Experience Centres in Sydney and Auckland shortly.

The OPTIQ features a Black Crystal grille with a laser-etched design and obsidian chrome accents. The LED lighting performs an animated sequence when the driver approaches the vehicle. Inside, the cabin uses sustainable materials, including fabric woven from 100% recycled yarn. Front seats include heating, ventilation, and massage functions with 8-way power adjustment as standard.

The VISTIQ measures 5,233mm in length with a 3,094mm wheelbase. The Platinum trim includes body-colour wheel surrounds and 22-inch wheels in a Satin Graphite finish. With the rear seats folded, the vehicle provides 2,271 litres of cargo space. A 4-zone automatic climate control system allows passengers to manage their own environments independently.

Both vehicles use the CCS2 charging standard. For home use, the OPTIQ can recover 100km of range per hour at 22.1kW AC, while the VISTIQ recovers 95km in the same timeframe. A portable Mode 2 charging cable is included with both models for flexibility. These specifications indicate that Cadillac is positioning itself as a high-performance alternative in the local EV market.

Cadillac is now competing directly with established luxury players by offering three distinct SUV sizes. The integration of high-resolution displays and premium audio systems is clearly intended to attract a tech-focused demographic. By providing local specifications and right-hand drive from the factory, the brand is making a long-term commitment to the region. The arrival of the OPTIQ and VISTIQ suggests that the luxury electric segment is becoming increasingly crowded.

The local automotive landscape is shifting, and these new additions represent a significant investment by General Motors. Cadillac is moving away from its traditional image, focusing instead on performance and high-end technology. Whether the market responds to this American interpretation of luxury remains to be seen, but the hardware is certainly competitive.
