Chrysler Celebrates 100 Years with Cupcakes, Time Capsules and a Whole Lot of History
Happy 100th birthday, Chrysler! That’s right — the Detroit darling officially turned the big 1-0-0 on June 6, 2025, and like any glamorous centenarian, she’s not fading quietly into the background. Chrysler is celebrating a century of automotive innovation, style, and resilience with events, tributes, and — naturally — a whole heap of flair. On June 5, more than 1,500 employees gathered at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, for a massive birthday photo op, cupcakes, commemorative T-shirts, and the unveiling of a very special time capsule. And no, it didn’t include a 1990s PT Cruiser (thankfully).
This isn’t just about nostalgia — it’s about honouring a legacy. Chrysler CEO Chris Feuell spoke passionately about the brand’s role in shaping American culture. From the brawny HEMI V8 and the birth of the modern minivan to the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid and its 82 MPGe cred, Chrysler’s history is studded with innovation. But behind every sleek badge and chrome accent lies the true secret sauce: the people. The time capsule, a replica of Walter P. Chrysler’s personal toolbox, contains artefacts and mementos dedicated to the generations of workers who powered the brand’s evolution — along with a letter to future employees and fans.

And don’t worry, Chrysler’s not done celebrating. The brand is launching a summer-long Century of Innovation roadshow, with stops at legendary events like the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals (July 11–13) and the iconic Woodward Dream Cruise (August 16). Expect special displays, historical vehicles, and probably more than a few diehard Mopar fans in vintage merch. Online, a seven-part social media video series is also being rolled out, spotlighting Chrysler’s past, present, and future — including an in-depth look at founder Walter P. Chrysler himself.
What’s next? A refreshed Chrysler Pacifica in 2026, a sleek new crossover, and a mystery model based on the futuristic Halcyon concept. Plus, the return of the Voyager for budget-conscious families — because even legacy brands know the value of a good bargain in tough times.
Although no longer sold in Australia, the other Stellantis sisters are. Through boom, bust, station wagons and Stow ‘n Go, Chrysler has remained a symbol of American ingenuity — and now, with one foot in the EV age and the other firmly planted in history, she’s strutting into her second century with pride. We’ll raise a martini and a torque wrench to that.
