Subarus have a ‘boxer’ horizontally-opposed front-mounted engines, symmetrical four wheel drive which has led to International rally successes, and a fanatical following of enthusiasts around the world.
As if to celebrate Shannons 40th Anniversary, their timed online auction from 23-30 November has four very different Subaru models for sale.
The star of the lineup is a rare two-door, 1993 Subaru SVX. The all-wheel drive Subaru was their first high performance coupe that survived only one generation, from 1991 to 1996.
This car is only nne of of 249 units sold new in Australia.
The collectible coupe has Shadowtone Black with Metallic Grey paintwork powered by a 169kW 3.3-litre boxer. For most of its 70,000km life, it was owned by a Subaru Dealer Principal, who sold it 4-5 years ago.
SVX was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign. It was wild for the time, with its aircraft-inspired ‘window-within-a-window’ side-glass, and had a wild price to match, between $70,000-$80,000.
