Accord has been a favourite in Australia and although recent sales have been bijou, Honda will bring Accord to Australian showrooms in the 2nd quarter of 2024.
Accord is the second-longest-running automotive nameplate in Honda’s history and has been on Australian roads since 1977.
Recent news hinted at the Accord coming in a single hybrid drivetrain and this was confirmed today. All-new Honda Accord e:HEV RS is a smoother, more sophisticated affair that bristles with premium quality and top technology.
It is powered by the Fourth-Generation two-motor hybrid system as seen in the new CR-V e:HEV RS. Its 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine has direct fuel injection and 2 electric motors mounted side-by-side instead of the previous the version that were in-line with the crankshaft. Power is up on the CR-V, at 152kW/335Nm on the American cars. It is still modest for a sedan of this size and with no Australian performance data available so far, Australian buyers can expect a frisky drive that is comfortable and sporty.

The all-new Accord is larger than the previous model, and its body looks sleeker and more modern. Honda’s new look has a European feel to it that some have said looks “less frumpy”.
The cabin is a completely fresh take with a few familiar touches. The honeycomb metal mesh dash accent is similar to that seen in Civic. The materials create a premium environment that was somewhat lacking in the flagship in recent years. We note a large centre screen, and Google voice assistant, a sign that Honda is meeting the market.
“The Honda Accord has a rich history in the Australian market as a sophisticated, luxurious flagship model which has been a customer favourite since its arrival in 1977”, said Honda Australia Director Ms. Carolyn McMahon. “This new model offers the premium feel that Accord is renowned for, coupled with all the additional technological advances that customers are becoming accustomed to, including Honda’s e:HEV hybrid powertrain that delivers a dynamic combination of performance and efficiency.”
A true benchmark in its class, the all-new Accord is the best Honda Accord ever, delivering an unbeatable combination of style, efficiency, performance and connectivity.
The All-new Accord will be arriving for customers to drive away from the second quarter of 2024.
