ABOVE: All New Honda CR-V Teaser
Honda has had a patchy relationship with hybrid models, introducing, then cancelling that range soon after. Market leader, Toyota, brought hybrids to Australia around the same time. It persisted, and now has hybrids in most models in their lineup.
Since Honda last had a hybrid in its stable, many other brands have also introduced the part-electric drivetrain. Other brands have pure EV cars, so Honda has some catching up to do.
The all-new HR-V continues Honda’s commitment to achieving its ‘Electric Vision’ strategy that will see all of its European mainstream models electrified by 2022. The HR-V is the latest model in Honda’s line-up to wear the e:HEV powertrain badging, joining the CR-V and all-new Jazz, which was launched in Europe last year.
The new HR-V e:HEV will be unveiled on 18 February 2021.
