Leading the i30 N refresh is a new DCT transmission.
The DCT is backed up by an upgraded engine suspension and brakes, new high-performance enhancements, additional SmartSenseTM safety technology and a new multimedia system.
The 8 speed wet clutch DCT claims to be the “quickest cog-swapper in the class”. The 2.0L engine comes with 206kw/392Nm via a new turbo and intercooler. The base model comes with a 6 speed manual.
Suspension has new Australian bespoke tuning for the active suspension system. Hyundai developed brand new forged 19” wheels which cut the unsprung weight by 14.5kg.
The cabin is trimmed in Alcantara and leather, with hip-hugging sports seats a particular highlight.

Extra advanced safety comes in the form of new SmartSenseTM technologies, now standard in i30 N are the following:
- Lane Following Assist (LFA)
- Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW)
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) – DCT variants
- Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA-R) – DCT variants
The N series includes Kona N, i20N and i30N sedan, and all will soon be available to test and order.
And, finally, something special from Mr. Albert Biermann and the team – the i30 Sedan N, which will again reset the Hyundai N performance benchmark.

“Now, the new 2021 i30 N, featuring the eagerly anticipated eight-speed N DCT, builds on the appeal and capabilities of its predecessor to once again change the affordable high-performance game. It is an even more compelling hot-hatch package,” he said.
