Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport have planted their flag firmly in the centre of the sporting firmament. The electric automotive world will see Abarth with a stonking 240hp worth of race-bred knowhow installed in a humble road car.

Together Abarth and Motorsport have created a platform, blending technology, racing expertise, engineering know-how, and countless hours of testing. The existing eCMP is now the Perfo-eCMP.

Abarth says nothing has been overlooked.  Handling has been gently transmogrified to give racing dynamics in all kinds of conditions. There is a unique limited slip differential developed especially for the BEV powertrain and its inherent dynamic characteristics.

The Abarth 240 hp comes with a braking system with bigger brake discs and larger disc surfaces for a better heat dissipation and fading resistance. Hard on the power, then hard on the brakes, will hit every apex whether the driver is trying or not. OK, the driver has to try, but the Abarth will go where its pointed without blinking a lustrous lash.

Experience in Formula E competitions has also provided new grippy tyres without ballsing up the  range and acoustics. Remember, most EVs have low rolling resistance tyres to give extra range. The softer compound tread on the exterior and centre area, are tenacious in corners yet give improved range. Polyurethane inserts provide acoustic insulation that is perceived 20% quieter.

The Cabin has high-comfort seats are firm enough for racing, yet comfortable for even the “most extreme journeys”. The seats are fashioned from 4 different foams that have an enveloping shape to contain your body on bends by emphasising lateral support, with higher density foam for a longer life.

Petrolheads have been unkind about the EV world generally, and about racing specifically. Abarth is well on its electrification journey so even the most sceptical among them will be impressed with the ride, if not the sound.
