Having pre-sold over 170 cars before even landing in Australia, the wait is over for those patiently awaiting the arrival of the 2.0 litre All-New Mazda MX-5.

In Dealerships now, Mazda is expecting the more powerful 2.0 litre fourth-generation MX-5 to hit the sweet spot with Australian buyers.

With two MX-5 engine choices on offer – a first for Australia – the 2.0L variant offers 118kW of power at 6,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. This represents a 23 per cent increase in power and a 33 per cent improvement in torque compared to the 1.5 litre model which went on sale in early August.

The higher output 2.0 litre MX-5 also boasts impressive fuel efficiency, with the 6-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission sipping from as little as 6.9L/100km, while the automatic records a lean 7.1L/100km.

Available in two grades – including the Roadster and the high-grade Roadster GT – and with either a 6-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2.0L All-New Mazda MX-5 comes with all the features available on the 1.5 litre models, but with a range of other stylish additions.

Both 2.0 litre grades come with MZD Connect, LED daylight running lamps and the larger 17 inch alloy wheels as standard equipment. The Roadster gets gunmetal grey wheels, while the top of the range GT alloys are painted bright silver.

Tipping the scales from a low 1,033kg – weighing in considerably less than the previous generation NC model – the All-New Mazda MX-5 offers a perfect mix of balance and control thanks to its renowned 50:50 front-rear weight balance and low centre of gravity. The result is a car that handles beautifully and is fun drive.

Available in six striking colours, including the popular Soul Red and the recently introduced Ceramic Metallic, the range comes with three interior trims, including black cloth for the Roadster and a choice of black or tan leather in Roadster GT.

The All-New Mazda MX-5 with 2.0 litre engine is priced from $34,490* with an almost 50/50 split of 2.0 litre and 1.5 litre sales expected.
