set to hit Australian roads in 2025. Already launched in Europe, the updated ASX promises to update the much-loved ASX, a top seller for well over a decade.
All New ASX is a re-faced version of Renault’s new Captur which brings current technology, up-to-date design, and a better driving experience, made possible through Mitsubishi’s Alliance partnership.
“This ASX represents a thoroughly modern evolution, designed to appeal to the next generation of buyers,” said MMAL CEO Shaun Westcott. More details on the Australian model will be shared closer to its launch.
End of the Line for Popular Mitsubishi Models
While the ASX prepares for its future, MMAL has confirmed production of the current ASX, Eclipse Cross, Eclipse Cross PHEV, and Pajero Sport has ceased. The models do not meet new Australian Design Rules (ADR) regulations coming into effect from March 2025, and re-engineering these vehicles ws commercially unviable.
Shaun Westcott reassured customers that Mitsubishi has worked with its dealer network to secure sufficient stock ahead of the deadline. Additionally, servicing and parts support for the outgoing models will remain readily available, ensuring peace of mind for current owners.

Renault Captur to Make a Comeback in Australia in 2025
Renault Australia has announced the return of the Renault Captur to the local market, with the new MY25 model scheduled to arrive in the second half of this year. After a brief hiatus between the previous generation and the latest model, the Renault Captur is expected to recapture a popular spot in the market and in Renault’s lineup.
Glen Sealey, General Manager of Renault Australia, expressed enthusiasm for the Captur’s return, citing strong demand from customers and dealers alike. “The Renault Captur has historically been one of the most popular models in our Australian lineup, and dealers have been receiving constant enquiries from buyers asking when the new model is due here, after we sold out of the previous model late last year,” he said.
Details on pricing and specifications remain under wraps for now, with further announcements expected closer to the vehicle’s arrival. The Captur’s comeback marks a key milestone in Renault Australia’s product rollout, as Sealey hinted at additional new and updated models on the horizon.
MY25 iteration is expected to continue building on its predecessor’s strengths by offering new technology and design enhancements to stay competitive in the crowded small SUV segment.
The Captur’s return reflects Renault’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Australia. With customer interest already high, the MY25 Captur could play a pivotal role in bolstering Renault’s market position in the coming years.
