If there was any doubt about the popularity of a Z car, the Nimso name’s je ne sais quoi caused a run on the 100-unit allocation, available from 11am on the 10th of August.
Offers of the Nissan Z Nismo went out to existing customer orders, with 22 going in 11 minutes. After existing orders were converted, only 50 Nissan Z’s remained and were snapped up by midday.
Some extraordinary facts emerged afterwards. Even after paying the $1,000 reservation fee, a Nissan Z was by no means guaranteed. Unsuccessful buyer’s reservation fees would be refunded, as would any others choosing not to proceed. Interestingly, no 3rd party buyers were allowed, and only one car per person was permitted.
Successful customers will be contacted by their nominated dealer shortly to confirm their purchase of the flagship new vehicle.
The standard Nissan Z is a force with which to be reckoned, and was tested by #alanzurvas at the australian launch. Although the Z Nismo has only 11kw more, the Nissan Z Nismo is a thing of beauty and I am not in the least surprised that connoisseurs chose a Nissan Z Nismo over a spiritless german.
