Tesla’s Model Y Performance Here at Last: Australia & NZ

1

343kW, 580km range, adaptive suspension, and just enough carbon fibre to make your accountant nervous.

Launch & Lease Loopholes Tesla has confirmed the Model Y Performance is now available to order in Australia and New Zealand, with deliveries expected late Q4 2025. Priced from $89,400 AUD (excluding government charges), it slides just under the luxury car tax threshold—making it eligible for fringe benefits tax exemption if you’re novated-leasing your way through life like a fiscally responsible speed addict.

Powertrain: Not Just Fast, Efficiently Fast This isn’t a “performance” badge slapped on a standard chassis. It’s 343kW of actual engineering, launching from 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and topping out at 250 km/h. The WLTP range? 580km. That’s Byron to Sydney with enough juice left to ghost your ex and still stream a podcast about emotional resilience.

Tesla’s upgraded battery pack delivers higher energy density without adding weight. The new drive unit pushes more torque and thermal tolerance, meaning you get speed and stamina—without the usual trade-offs.

Suspension: Reads the Road Like It’s Gossip Tesla’s adaptive suspension system doesn’t just react—it recalibrates. Standard, Sport, and Track modes adjust in real time to your driving style, road conditions, and mood swings. New springs, stabilizer bars, and bushings give the chassis a more intuitive feel, while the control algorithm delivers a ride that’s equal parts composed and cocky.

Exterior: The Villain Edit The Model Y Performance gets a redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes and side openings to reduce drag and lift. At the rear, a carbon fibre spoiler and sportier diffuser styling add aerodynamic function and visual drama.

Glossy black finishes on the front and rear fascias, mirror caps, and red brake calipers give it the full villain arc. The 21” Arachnid 2.0 forged wheels are staggered, sculpted, and fitted with integrated aero covers. It’s not subtle. It’s not trying to be.

Interior: Pixels, Pedals, and Powered Thighs Inside, it’s all about indulgence. Performance seats with powered thigh cushion extenders, carbon fibre trim on the dash and doors, and aluminium pedals set the tone. The new 16” touchscreen packs 80% more pixels than the standard Model Y display, with thinner bezels and sharper visuals. Whether you’re adjusting drive modes or watching Netflix while parked outside your ex’s house, it’s immersive, intuitive, and unapologetically extra.

Colours: Choose Your Mood Available in five exterior shades:

  • Pearl White Multi-Coat
  • Quicksilver
  • Ultra Red
  • Diamond Black
  • Stealth Grey

Pick one that matches your aura—or your therapist’s notes.

Production & Delivery Australian and New Zealand units will be built at Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. Deliveries are expected to begin in late Q4 2025. Orders are open now.

Tyre Repair & Roadside Support Tesla’s Mobile Tyre Repair service includes on-site puncture repair, tyre replacement, and a loaner wheel program. Available 24/7 via the Tesla app, the service ensures minimal disruption. If roadside repair isn’t possible, a technician will fit a loaner wheel and transport the damaged one to a service centre.

Supercharging: Fast Enough to Be Rude Tesla’s Supercharger network remains the fastest global EV charging infrastructure. Located near major routes and amenities, Superchargers can add up to 282km of range in just 15 minutes. That’s faster than your last breakup.
