ABOVE: 2023 Honda Civic and Honda Civic Type R

Wireless CarPlay, vastly superior to previous iterations but why wired Android Auto? Raffy

Civic is mild, not wild. It is learner-friendly, and has oodles of good looks that appeals to younger drivers. Casper

Civic is not going to parachute  punchy punters into a racetrack mindset, but there is enough power for daily driving. Max

Flexible storage is a great idea. Ethan

Steering is lovely and light, yet still has enough feeling. It is all fake of course, as electric steering is driven by a computer-controlled electric motor. It is calibrated by technicians to precise parameters.

Sexy looks got me at first sight. I don’t think Civic gets the compliments it deserves. It is smooth, with a sporty hatch design making Civic look hotter than it actually is. It has just enough bling to make the simple lines look dolled-up. Sir David

Though Civic is a bit small for my tastes, the seats are comfortable and hold you tight in bends. Travis

Needs more power, but the 131kw turbo is nice and responsive, despite the CVT automatic. Luke

I love the front end; it is sexy AF. It is mean and nasty, with this filthy glare that lets anyone in front know that the driver mean business. Luke

Honda Civic is a great package. Despite the price, and the CVT automatic, the average driver is going to love the comfort particularly at cruising speed. I’d happily go long distance, and driver and safety assistance measures make life less stressful. I’m happy the Lane Watch system has been replaced by the a proper Blind Spot monitor.

Honda Civic in the 2023 guise, is fit for a queen. It treats a passenger like royalty, and is only missing a powered-wigged flunky bringing a martini to make the picture complete.
