Volvo Google OS Adds Prime Video and YouTube

Volvo’s cool Google OS was an automotive first. Not to be confused with Android Auto, the Google OS makes the infotainment system feel as familiar as a smart phone. Initially the system didn’t include Apple CarPlay, but that came later via an update.

Volvos with the Google OS will now be able to download Prime Video from the Google Play store.

Electric Volvos like the C40 and EX30 gives drivers another way to pass some quiet time while hooked up. It also makes airport collections easier to tolerate, picking up that movie you’ve been watching while your other half gets his act together at the baggage carousel.

Sister brand, Polestar, shares the system and has made the same announcements.

The other big news is that Google’s Youtube will be coming as part of the Over-The-Air update and will be installed as a standard app.
