163km 2014 HSV GTS Offered For Sale

Chrome Temple Motors (chrometemple.com/motors) has had an online auction featuring a 2014 HSV VF GTS Manual Sedan with just 163km on the clock. This museum-ready 580hp HSV GTS has a black on black colour scheme. The live auction rins from Monday, 12th July 2021, to 26th July 2021, at 7pm AEST.

This was a crowd favourite when release back in 2014, and had a 430kW (580hp) 6.2-litre supercharged V8 from the fifth-generation Chevy Camaro ZL-1 and Cadillac CTS-V. When new, the GTS cost a princely.

Holden did a great job on the final locally made commodore. When it made its way to HSV, extra fluid radiators and coolers were installed, the drivetrain presented more issues.

Other Holdens used the Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual, but it was insufficient for the GST. Instead, the GST used the heavy-duty 9L90 six-speed auto or MG-9 manual, and both needed modification. A 9.9-inch super-heavy-duty rear-end and larger drive shafts were housed in the same cradle as the track-spec Camaro ZL-1, but HSV needed to find a solution for the electric parking brake, with the Camaro having a manual lever setup.

Holden fitted Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) adjustable dampers, with various modes. Seating was heavily-bolstered leather sports seats, an instruments included track maps for all race circuits in Australia, a G-meter, along with other data for both track and road use.

GTS came with:

  • blind spot monitoring
  • dual-zone climate air conditioning
  • cruise control
  • bi-modal exhaust
  • nine-speaker Bose audio

and a very nice interior that was just a little bit above the standard Holden V8 Commodores.

Recently, we’ve seen a sharp increase in prices for all factory supercharged HSVs, but 163km is almost unheard of.  The closing price will no doubt reflect this unique offering.

Other sale items are:

  • 1968 FORD MUSTANG AUTO (nut and bolt restoration)
  • 2017 ASTON MARTIN V8 S VANTAGE MANUAL RED BULL RACING EDITION
  • 2008 BMW E92 M3 MANUAL with low km
  • 1999 NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R BNR34
  • 2002 LOTUS ELISE 111.
