2025 Lexus LX Adds Hardcore Overtrail and Luxe Upgrades

The 2025 Lexus LX lineup has been overhauled to deliver even more comfort, connectivity, capability—and for the first time, a hardcore off-road variant called Overtrail, pairing rugged new hardware with Lexus’s trademark five-star refinement.

Built on the third-generation platform introduced locally in 1998, the flagship SUV now offers more choice and performance across the board. Leading the charge is the Overtrail grade, a new five-seat variant that unlocks the LX’s full off-road potential with locking front and rear differentials, 18-inch matte grey wheels, and high-profile Toyo Open Country all-terrain tyres.

Exclusive black exterior highlights—grille, bumpers, mirrors, and trim—help the Overtrail stand apart, while the interior features premium Monolith leather-accented seats and Sumi Ash black ornamentation.

The LX Luxury variant remains the entry point, with a generous seven-seat layout now enhanced with soft-close doors, a centre console cool box, and expanded Lexus Safety Sense+, which now detects motorcycles and cyclists (day and night) and adds intersection AEB and emergency driving stop functions.

All models gain a new 12.3-inch digital driver display, upgraded connectivity with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a total of six USB-C ports.

The LX Sports Luxury and F Sport grades also receive upgrades, including massaging front seats and four-way adjustable headrests, with the Sports Luxury available in both five- and seven-seat configurations. At the top of the range, the ultra-exclusive LX Ultra Luxury features VIP-style reclining rear seats, massagers, and now dual wireless phone chargers—front and rear.

Powertrain choices remain: the 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel with 227kW/700Nm, and the 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 producing 305kW/650Nm. Both engines are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system with low range and 3,500kg towing capacity.

Seven exterior colours are offered, including the new and exclusive Moon Desert finish for Overtrail.
