2025 Toyota Tundra Platinum Brings Bold Luxury to Australia

2025 Toyota Tundra Platinum Lands in Australia: A Full-Size Pickup with Big Energy and Bigger Luxury

The Toyota Tundra has officially gone Platinum – and no, not just in attitude. Toyota Australia has unveiled its new flagship 2025 Tundra Platinum, joining the Limited grade in a move that firmly cements the full-size pickup’s status as the biggest, boldest, and most blinged-out truck Toyota’s ever sold Down Under.

Locally re-engineered in partnership with Walkinshaw Automotive Group – the same crew behind the HSV legends – the right-hand-drive Tundra was a world-first for Toyota. After six years of development, Toyota’s American brute has been fully Aussie-fied without compromising on power, presence, or premium touches.

Let’s get one thing straight – or not – the Tundra Platinum is massive. At 5,955mm long and 2,040mm wide, it’s bigger than your average apartment and about as subtle as a Mardi Gras float on steroids. Built on the TNGA-F ladder frame (also underpins the LandCruiser 300 Series), it brings serious off-road and towing cred with a 4,500kg braked towing capacity, part-time 4WD with low-range, and a chassis tough enough to double as scaffolding.

Under the hulking bonnet sits Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, blending a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor to deliver a combined 326kW and 790Nm. That’s not just strong – that’s V8-rivalling muscle with a green conscience. A 10-speed auto, limited-slip diff, and adaptive towing modes make it a dream for those who haul horses, boats, or ya gal’s luggage for a weekend away.

But the Platinum isn’t just brawn – it’s brains and bougie too. Inside, it’s pure luxe: a sea of blue-and-black leather-accented upholstery, front massaging seats, and heated/ventilated rear outboard seats (yes, even your mates in the back get the royal treatment). A 14-inch infotainment screen takes centre stage with Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto (wired), all hooked up to a 12-speaker JBL® sound system that could blow your lashes off.

There’s even a 10.9-inch head-up display, a wireless charging pad, five USB-C ports, and a panoramic view monitor, because when you’re nearly six metres long, parking takes more than good intentions.

Toyota’s also thrown in their full suite of Safety Sense driver aids. That includes pedestrian and cyclist detection (day and night), active cruise, emergency steering assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and much more – all standard.

In typical Toyota fashion, servicing is capped at $450 every 6 months/10,000km for five years, with a five-year/unlimited km warranty. Optional premium paint will set you back $675, but let’s be honest – if you’re already spending over $170k, what’s a bit more gloss?

2025 Toyota Tundra Pricing (Australia)

  • Tundra Limited – $155,990
  • Tundra Platinum – $172,990
  • Optional Premium Paint – $675

Toyota knows this won’t be a mass-market mover – it’s niche, just like a Louis Vuitton toolbelt. But for tradies with taste, caravan queens, rural royalty, or anyone who wants America-sized muscle with Japanese reliability and Aussie flair, the Tundra Platinum is everything – and then some.

Whether you’re towing horses to the country or boys to the beach, the Tundra is big, bold, and perfectly unapologetic.
