2026 Subaru Solterra get More Power and Range at last

Subaru’s first-ever battery electric vehicle (BEV) has received a comprehensive MY26 Solterra update for Australia, delivering more power, longer range, and refined Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive at a sharper starting price of $63,990 for AWD and $69,990 for AWD Touring.

The update brings dual electric motors producing a combined 252 kW — a 57% increase over the previous model — and a larger 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering up to 566 km WLTP range in AWD and 517 km in Touring. AC charging has been doubled from 11 kW to 22 kW, although the 150 kW DC not-so-rapid charger remains an issue, reaching 0–80% in about 30 minutes.

The MY26 Solterra is built on Subaru’s improved e-Subaru Global Platform, enhancing ride comfort, AWD control, and cabin quietness. Ground clearance sits at 212 mm, and Dual Mode X-Mode with Drive Mode Select allows drivers to adjust grip and response. Towing capacity is increased to 1,500 kg with trailer brakes.

Interior updates focus on practical technology: a new 14-inch infotainment screen, dual wireless phone chargers, and 64-colour ambient lighting linked to drive modes. Touring variants add a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon system. Cargo space measures 421 L for AWD and 410 L for Touring.

Safety is reinforced with the latest Subaru Safety Sense suite, Advanced Park Assist, Multi-Terrain Monitor, and a rigid high-strength safety cell. Driver Monitoring System provides alerts for fatigue or distraction.
