Audi A6 allroad buyers will get a plug-in hybrid for the first time in Australia, with the e-hybrid quattro listed at $127,900 plus on-roads and the TDI quattro at $137,900.
The fifth-generation Audi A6 allroad is due in the first half of 2027. Ordering details are promised closer to launch. Audi values the extra standard equipment over the outgoing car at more than $10,000.
Peter Strudwicke, Audi Product Manager for the A6 allroad, said the model “has always occupied a distinctive position in our portfolio, combining the practicality of an Avant with the confidence and capability of quattro all-wheel drive.” Volkswagen uses the same raised-wagon approach for the Passat Alltrack.
The body is 84mm wider than before, the first time it’s been widened in the model’s 27-year history. The track has grown with it under more pronounced wheel arches. Every car gets a black styling package with black roof rails and 20-inch Audi Sport alloys in black metallic gloss-turned. Matrix LED headlights are standard at the front, and the LED tail lights are joined by a full-width light strip.

Petrol hybrid or V6 diesel Audi A6 allroad
The e-hybrid quattro combines a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine with an electric motor for 270kW/500Nm. Its battery holds 25.9kWh, 20.7kWh of it usable, and gives up to 87km of electric range before the petrol engine is needed. Australian cars come with both home and public AC charging equipment. Auxiliary air conditioning preconditions the cabin before a trip. The e-hybrid also gets its own 21-inch Audi Sport wheels with 6 flat spokes in black metallic gloss-turned, with red brake calipers behind them.
The TDI quattro uses a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel making 220kW/580Nm, with Audi’s MHEV plus mild hybrid system. A belt alternator starter and a powertrain generator handle energy recuperation and electric assistance. An electrically powered compressor cuts boost lag at low revs. Drive goes to every wheel through a 7-speed S tronic.

Air suspension and four-wheel steering
Adaptive air suspension tuned for the allroad is standard, with 55mm of total adjustment through Audi drive select. Dynamic mode lowers the body by 20mm. Offroad and offroad+ raise it by 15mm and revise the damping and traction control. Lift mode adds 35mm at speeds up to 35km/h.
All-wheel steering is also standard on every Audi A6 allroad. At low speed the rear wheels turn up to 5 degrees against the fronts, cutting the turning circle by almost 1m to 11.4m. At higher speed they turn up to 2 degrees in the same direction as the fronts. The steering itself is progressive.
Audi A6 allroad cabin and screens
Both models get the S line interior, built around perforated Nappa sport front seats with diamond stitching. The front seats are electrically adjusted with pneumatic lumbar support, and they’re heated and ventilated, with massage on top. Climate control covers 4 zones, and the panoramic glass roof has switchable transparency, so there’s no conventional sunblind to pull across.
The dashboard is a curved OLED panel Audi calls the digital stage, made up of an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus and a 14.5-inch MMI touch display. The front passenger gets a 10.9-inch screen of their own, and a head-up display is standard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wireless, and the phone charging pad is cooled. The Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound system runs 16 speakers on 685 watts.
Driver assistance builds on the systems in the new A5 and Q5. It includes adaptive cruise assist and park assist plus with a 360-degree camera. A front dash camera is standard, and 9 airbags are fitted, one of them a front centre airbag.
Body corrosion perforation is covered for 12 years, and owners get Audi Experience loyalty membership for the length of the warranty.
