All New X-Trail: What we Know So Far
At the recent local reveal of the 4 new cars launching this year X-Trail, Qashqai, Pathfinder, Z), Nissan boss, Adam Paterson said, “With a proud heritage that spans more than two decades, few vehicles have played such a significant role in unlocking adventure and unforgettable memories for hundreds of thousands of Australian families.”
Nissan’s all-new Nissan X-TRAIL, will launch soon. It has an all-new platform, extra safety equipment, improved build quality, extra cabin technology, and a more capable all-road 4×4 system that offers up to five distinct drive modes.
Nissan claims All New X-Trail is comfortable both on the road and off it. It is taller and wider than the outgoing model. All New X-TRAIL’s styling has a larger V-Motion grille, a “floating” roofline, and a design that aids aerodynamics, while reducing wind noise.

“This all-new Nissan X-TRAIL is fully equipped to carry forward that legacy for a new generation of Australian families.”

If Nissan X-trail is good enough for the dishy Bear Grylls then it’s good enough for meST
An entry-level model that still feels high quality inside and out. There is new LED lighting front and rear, roof rails, shift-by-wire, high-beam assist, a rear parking camera and sensor, among other tasty goodies. The “entry level” 8.0-inch infotainment system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. There are17-inch alloy wheels, and active safety that includes:
- AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection
- rear AEB with pedestrian detection and cross-traffic alert
- traffic-sign recognition and Intelligent Cruise Control
ST-L
Adds ProPILOT safety with Lane Keep Assist, privacy glass, fog lights, a digital Around-View monitor, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, sliding rear seats, front parking sensors, synthetic leather trim, 40:20:40 split rear seats, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Ti
X-TRAIL Ti adds genuine leather-accented seating, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, LED turn signals, a Smart Rear View Mirror, tri-zone climate control and power operated rear tailgate. Most importantly, the cabin and driver technology improves significantly with a 12.3-inch, navigation infotainment touch screen, a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, and finally, wireless phone charging and wireless Apple CarPlay.
Ti-L
Is the range topper. X-TRAIL Ti-L adds a heated steering wheel, Bose 10-speaker sound system, full Nappa leather seating with memory seat function, rear sunshades, hands free rear tailgate, remote engine start and more.
SAFETY
All X-TRAIL models have an increased level of safety aids including: standard rear cross traffic alert and auto emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, intelligent emergency lane keeping, and blind-spot warning and intervention.
AWD Modes
X-TRAIL’s has a new new multi-mode all-wheel-drive system with drive modes. Modes include Eco, Standard and Sport modes to suit surfaces such as sealed road, dirt, ice and snow, with Hill Descent Control for carefully modulated downhill off-road driving on 4WD models.
The new X-TRAIL adopts the latest CMF-C engineering platform. Towing capacity increased by 500kg to 2 tonnes, and the 2.5 litre engine gains an extra 9kW/19Nm for a total output of 135kW/245Nm.
Onboard Storage
X-TRAIL’s has a flexible luggage-storage with dual luggage boards allowing for 16 different boot configurations to allow long items, bags or fragile packages, and for hidden storage of valuable items. This twin-board modular rear cargo space is unique to the medium SUV segment and is offered on ST-L models and above
